What documents must be presented when traveling abroad by a citizen of Ukraine, who has three or more children under the age of 18, if the children are abroad?
Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine “On Mobilization Training and Mobilization” defines such a category as women and men, who are in the care of three or more children under the age of 18. Thus, the determining factor is not parenthood, but the maintenance of three or more children.
To cross the border on this basis, it is necessary to provide supporting documents for the maintenance of three or more children under the age of 18. Such documents may be birth certificates of three or more children or a certificate of registration of marriage with the mother of these children and, accordingly, birth certificates of these children, or a court decision on the dissolution of the marriage and determination of the place of residence of the children with the father, or a court decision on the dissolution of the marriage and the decision of the guardianship and trusteeship authority to determine the place of residence residence of children with a father, or a certificate of the father of a large family.
It should also be noted that if a man does not live in the same family with his child (children), it is necessary to provide evidence of the maintenance of such a child (children). The supporting documents may be a court decision on the appointment of alimony for the maintenance of the child (children) and a certificate from the executive service about the absence of arrears for the payment of alimony, the amount of payment of such alimony, etc.
The head of the department of border control organization of the Western Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service Colonel Igor Matviychuk emphasized that if the above certificates are in the “Diia” annex, they can also be used when traveling abroad to confirm the fact of keeping three or more children under the age of 18.
