How to recover damaged, lost or stolen license plates?
To restore damaged, lost or stolen vehicle license plates to any territorial service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it is necessary to provide:
• passport of a citizen of Ukraine (in case of providing an ID card without the information on registration of the place of residence in a contactless electronic medium, a certificate of registration of the person's place of residence is provided together) or: temporary certificate of a citizen of Ukraine; permanent residence permit; temporary residence permit; refugee
certificate; identity card in need of additional protection; identity card for which temporary protection is granted. • identification
code of the owner
vehicle;
• certificate of registration of the vehicle; • in case of theft — certificate of loss of license plates issued at the National Police Department;
• in case of loss — written explanation of the circumstances of the loss of the document.
If the owner of the vehicle is a legal entity, an act of official investigation is provided.
Be sure to provide a vehicle for expert inspection.
The administrator of the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, after entering the relevant information into the database of AIS “License Plate”, re-registers the vehicle. Instead of lost or unusable license plates, on the basis of the application of the owner or his representative, new registration certificates and license plates are issued.
Found license plates after issuing new ones are considered invalid and handed over to the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
