How Parents Protect Children From Online Dangers - Cyberpolice Recommendations
Cyberspace is another front in warfare, where the enemy sneakily and insidiously attacks our citizens. The most vulnerable are children and adolescents, because they spend a lot of time online, and therefore the risk of encountering danger increases.
On Children's Day, we remind parents of basic recommendations on how to protect their children from crimes in the virtual space:
- teach your child to be skeptical about new acquaintances in social networks. Especially in the conditions of war, when the enemy can use other people's photos and impersonate anyone, pursuing their own interests;
- explain the importance of keeping personal data secret. First of all, this applies to the address, place of stay, mobile phone number, bank data of parents. If someone asks children for such information, teach them to report it to you;
- teach children not to follow dubious links, this does not only apply to links in social networks or mail, a “virus” or phishing can also hide behind advertisements in various games and applications;
- teach the child to treat assistance messages wisely and to receive information only from official sources;
- a common danger is the creation of intimate photos. Abusers often manipulate and abuse the trust of children by demanding candid photos. Most often, they threaten to disclose intimate materials and subsequently blackmail minors in order to realize other criminal intentions. Adults should explain to children about the possible consequences of such “communication”;
- the ability to easily earn money or perform a certain task in the format of the game, such as taking a photo of various objects or applying a “drawing” on the asphalt, - the occupiers use various means to wage war. Tell your child about the dangers of such proposals.
