I believe in our victory, in our people, and our Ukraine!, — guard with the nickname “Kharkiv”
The soldier with the callsign “Kharkiv” serves in one of the brigades of the Northern Union of the National Guard. Before the war, he worked abroad for more than a year, engaged in his own projects in the medical field.
“On the night of February 24, I didn't sleep — as if I felt something had to happen. At the time of the beginning of the full-scale invasion, I was in Poland, and at first I was engaged in helping refugees from Ukraine, who arrived in large numbers. After a few days of volunteer work, I realized that I could not be on the sidelines, abroad, when there is a war in my country,” the soldier shares his memories. In a week the guy managed to gather a team of like-minded volunteers who were also in Poland.
Subsequently, they went to Warsaw, where they were helped with military equipment by volunteers who support Ukraine.
“One day we were in Warsaw, collected a whole truckload of humanitarian aid there and drove to the border. We got to Ukraine on foot and from Lviv we headed to Kiev, where we were met by shelling the train on which we were traveling. So we arrived in the capital, where our service in the army began,” says Kharkiv.
After the victory, the guard plans to open his own business, where he will popularize the Ukrainian product both in Ukraine and abroad. We also plan to open a laboratory for testing and developing new inventions here in Ukraine, in order to primarily benefit our state, as well as help in promoting the ideas of Ukrainian inventors.
“I am defending my country. I was born here, my children will live here! I want to be one of those who will build a new Ukraine — free and independent! My home is now under constant shelling from the occupier... I am here because I feel that my country needs in a difficult time! Here I found my love, and very soon I am going to make an offer of my hand and heart to my beloved girlfriend.
I believe in our victory, in our people and our Ukraine, we will stand up against the enemy, whatever it is!”
