“I want to clear our region as soon as possible from the consequences of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation” — the story of a sapper from the Nikolaev area
Yuriy Vaulin is a senior mechanic, driver, sapper from Mykolaiv region. Before the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the man worked at an enterprise in Nikolaev, where he mastered various heavy special equipment. So when the war started, I realized that this baggage of knowledge would be useful in the SNS.
“The experience I have gained in civilian life can be useful in the defense business. He came to the Nikolaev garrison of the State Emergency Service and got a position as “sapper-excavator of the department of special explosive works”. Now I work as a senior mechanic. I did not regret my choice, because together with my colleagues I see how much explosive dirt the enemy has left in our land. And I understand that it will take a lot of time and effort to exchange all this,” says Yuriy.
Vaulin was one of the first among Nikolaev pyrotechnics to learn to operate a mechanized demining machine. For this, together with colleagues, he studied in Croatia. And now he is working on the mining of the Nikolaev area, using his “drone”. So, smiling, he calls the car.
“The hardest thing is when you get the news that someone has been injured, and even worse, blown up by an enemy shell. You realize that if you were the first to enter a dangerous area and examine it with a drone, then maybe this would not happen and the person would be alive and unharmed. At such moments, we want to clear our region from the consequences of armed aggression as soon as possible,” Yuriy shares.
Every day, the fire brigade of the National Emergency Service of Ukraine works to restore safety to Ukrainian lands, so that everyone can live and feel safe in their own country.
