Kherson police patrol the places of exchange of Kakhovsky reservoir to prevent theft of historical objects by “black archaeologists”

After the Russian army blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant and the subsequent shelling of the Kakhovsky reservoir, these places are closed. Currently, they are heavily guarded and patrolled by the police together with the employees of the State Emergency Service in cooperation with local authorities. Special observation posts are set up at the places of metering of the reservoir.

The actions of the police are aimed at preventing the work of “black archaeologists” on the territory freed from water and in coastal areas, to prevent looting, burglar diggers who destroy, destroy and damage cultural heritage objects, historical and archaeological artifacts from ancient and Cossack times to World War II.

In addition to responsibility for the theft of cultural heritage objects, the police warn citizens about the danger of being in areas where a large number of explosive objects remained after the water rose.
