Bribes for the unhindered movement of tobacco products across the border — in Transcarpathia police exposed a border guard
The total amount of ill-gotten gains is $1250.
Yesterday, January 13, operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Transcarpathian region of the National Police together with the internal security of the border detachment “West” exposed the inspector of the border service during the receipt of the second part of the illegal benefit — 1000 US dollars. Previously, law enforcement officials documented the receipt of another $250.
For the “reward”, the border guard provided information about the absence of border equipment at the border line, so that the citizen could freely move tobacco products across the state border of Ukraine.
The defendant was informed of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Art. 368 (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of choosing a precautionary measure in relation to the defendant is resolved.
Pre-trial investigation is carried out by TU SBI, located in the city. Lviv, under the procedural guidance of the Transcarpathian specialized prosecutor's office in the military and defense sphere.
