Bribe or dismissal: the police reported the suspicion to the official of the municipal enterprise of the Odessa City Council
The municipality wanted to dismiss a subordinate for his refusal to participate in a “scheme” to steal budget funds.
Officials of the municipal enterprise established a scheme for embezzlement of budget funds. According to her, the enterprise falsely employed citizens and charged them wages.
In the course of documenting criminal activity, the operatives and investigators also documented the facts of bribery on the part of the head of the district of the municipal enterprise. One of his subordinates refused to participate in the transaction and he threatened him with dismissal. Nevertheless, for improper benefit, he promised to leave a subordinate in office.
On the basis of the collected evidence, the head of the district of the municipal enterprise of the Odessa City Council was informed of the suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 (Acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The question of choosing a precautionary measure is being resolved.
Currently, investigative actions are underway to collect the evidence base in the case of theft of budget funds.
