The streets were crowded, met with applause — as the police entered the liberated Kherson a year ago
When the police entered the city, people at first did not understand what was happening, - recalls the commander of the special police company of the Main Department of the NPU in the Kherson region Ruslan Prychepa.
“I had two machine gunners sitting on the side of my pickup truck and they raised the flag and then all the streets were completely populated. People came to the road to meet us with applause,” says the policeman.
For Ruslan Prychepa, the date of Kherson's release became historic. After all, it was he who in the early morning of September 11 last year installed the state flag on the premises of the Main Directorate of NPU in the Kherson region. It was from that moment that the news of the liberation of Kherson began to spread on the Internet and in social networks.
However, there were still enemy saboteurs in the city. “Every intersection for us was waiting for ambushes and DRG,” the policeman recalls.
