World AIDS Day in the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
Every year on December 1, World AIDS Day is celebrated. This disease claimed the lives of about 40 million people around the world, and more than a thousand people died from it in Ukraine this year. Therefore, it is important to attract the attention of society and raise awareness of how to protect against this incurable disease.
Employees of the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs throughout Ukraine participate in such events annually, in particular, participate in the Red Ribbon Action. It symbolizes hope for an AIDS-free future, solidarity with HIV-positive people, tolerance and the fight against the disease.
In addition, today the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the city of Rivne conducted free testing for HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C and B. All visitors were able to get advice from a family doctor and have their blood pressure measured.
HIV is not a verdict today. It is enough to take medicine on time. And the most important thing in overcoming this disease is to identify and treat those living with the immunodeficiency virus. So each of us can contribute to the fight against HIV.
Remember that the virus is dangerous until it is detected. Testing is a sign of respect for yourself and those who do not care about you.
Take care of yourself — get tested!
