Eight former law enforcement officers of the Kherson region are suspected of working for the enemy
In the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, the internal security operatives of the police and the SBU installed former law enforcement officers who got hired to work for the illegal law enforcement agency “Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kherson Oblast”. Under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, they were charged with treason.
Employees of the Department of Internal Security of the National Police and the Department for the Protection of National Statehood of the SBU continue to install enemy proxies in the temporarily occupied territory. Joint forces managed to gather a sufficient evidence base regarding the illegal activities of six men and two women who served in the Kherson police in the past, and after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine went to work for the “Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kherson Oblast” of the occupation authorities.
Currently, SBU investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, have in absentia notified former law enforcement officers of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 (State Treason) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For the committed acts, the defendants may be threatened with life imprisonment.
