“Enemy” drones, attacks and wounds: how National Guardsmen train (VIDEO)
Soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine are constantly improving their own skills. Fighter training encompasses theoretical and practical knowledge. During the exercises, the guards understand the tactics of warfare, topography, tactical medicine and a number of other important areas. Everything is to prepare the newly arrived military as much as possible for the performance of military tasks in the future.
Previously, the guards were engaged in tactics or medicine separately. These were now grouped so that the fighters went through the entire stage from ordering from the command post, moving around the terrain and west to firing positions to practicing tactical medicine. After all, real combat is not training, where you can choose the topic of the lesson or focus on performing only one task. During a real battle, a soldier applies a set of knowledge and skills that he has acquired and trained in advance.
This time, the task of going from the gathering point to the shooting location is complicated, in particular, by the presence of a conditionally hostile drone in the sky, from which pyrotechnic discharges occur from time to time. They organize training as close as possible to the combat so that the guards understand that they will be waiting closer to the front positions.
At this stage of the training scenario, communication is paramount. Moving with equipment, a conditionally hostile “bird” overhead, crossing difficult sections of the road, reconnaissance of the path - all this requires coordination in the communication of the unit in order to overcome obstacles and take positions for shooting in time and without problems.
“After entering the position, the fighters worked out their defense. The commander divided the unit into groups, which in turn had to repel the attack, that is, the fire on the enemy was constantly carried out,” the combat training instructor Britt told about the course of the exercises.
When a loud cry interrupted a short pause after firing at targets - one of the unit's fighters received a conditional leg wound - so the guards began training in tactical medicine.
“This is the first part - helping under fire, where the guys put turnstiles. Then we worked out the evacuation of the wounded to the BTR and further to the green zone, where the wounded can be stabilized. Already from there we took him to the nearest hospital,” the paramedic of the 27th Pechersk Brigade with the nickname Biker describes the actions of the fighters.
According to the guards, the evacuation of the wounded is one of the most difficult stages of such complex training, because good physical endurance is needed to pull the comrades out of the trenches and bring them to a safer area. For more realism, the instructors used packets of paint that was supposed to mimic real blood from the wound.
“When we put the turnstiles, we cut the shape, and it splashes - the feeling that this is real blood. There is even a little panic, but it is precisely for such stressful situations that we must also prepare so that in the event of a real injury we know how to act,” says guard Badr.
While the “seriously wounded” was helped by his brothers, another conditionally wounded in the hand had to impose a tourniquet on himself. Both fighters were taken to an ambulance, which immediately went to the nearest hospital - the final point of training.
There, the soldiers were transferred to the reception department, and the medical personnel were described in detail the injuries and manipulations they carried out with the military. The training of the guards was completed. How it was - look in the material.
