Volodymyr Zelenskyy got acquainted with the arrangement of the state border of Ukraine in Volyn
During a working trip to Volyn region, the President of Ukraine visited the border area where the borders of three states converge: Ukraine, the Republic of Poland and Belarus.
He got acquainted with the arrangement of the state border in this direction.
Border guards demonstrated to the Head of State the amount of work that has been carried out since the beginning of 2022 to strengthen the border with Belarus within the Volyn region.
Volodymyr Zelensky was also informed that in order to ensure reliable protection of the Ukrainian border and readiness to repel a possible invasion of the enemy from the territory of Belarus, engineering barriers, fortifications and setup of remote video surveillance systems are being built.
The president inspected the observation post and the two-level system of ditches on the border. From the position of the observation post, it was demonstrated how round-the-clock surveillance of the border line is carried out with the help of remote video surveillance systems. In addition, the Head of State showed detection systems for unmanned aerial vehicles.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy talked with the soldiers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and presented them with awards, in particular the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree, “For Courage” of the 3rd degree, as well as medals “For Military Service to Ukraine”.
“I am honored to be here today, to congratulate you, to thank you for protecting the state border. I would like to talk about the border, being here, in Volyn, near the border of Ukraine with Belarus and Poland. You are heroic and strong people. I want to thank you for protecting our state in Bakhmut. I know how firmly you stood there, holding Bakhmut. I would like to thank you and your brothers. I want to wish you health, strength, and warmth to your loved ones. We are all proud to have such strong border guards. I wish you to preserve the power, justice and fury that we have in defending our state. I wish everyone only victory!”, — said the President.
