Firefighters continue to eliminate fires in residential sectors: 67 fires occurred in a day - how to protect yourself
During the day, 67 fires occurred in the residential sector, as a result of which 2 people died, 3 more were injured. Often, fires in apartments and houses occur due to human negligence or technical malfunction of appliances.
Thus, due to a short circuit of the power grid in Cherkassy, there was a fire in one of the apartments of a 5-storey building. The fire that broke out in the kitchen was extinguished by firefighters in less than half an hour. However, the fire destroyed household items and household appliances. During the elimination of the fire, 5 residents of the house were evacuated, including a woman with a young child.
Also this night, rescuers in Sumy region received reports of a fire in the basement of one of the residential buildings. It is known that garbage burned on a large area, as a result of which there was a strong smoke on the staircase. Most residents were able to run out on their own. During the reconnaissance on the 1st and 2nd floors, three people were found who could not leave the danger zone on their own and were waiting for help. The two women and a man were immediately evacuated to fresh air by emergency workers.
Last day, August 9, there was a fire in one of the apartments in Vinnitsa. Upon arrival at the scene, it turned out that the fire occurred in an apartment on the 5th floor of a nine-story building. Emergency rescue workers evacuated four people from neighboring apartments. Of them, two girls aged 11 and 16, in rescue devices to protect their respiratory system. The probable cause of the fire and the damage caused by it are established.
