Internal security of the State Border Guard Service and the SBU exposed a traitor who worked for the FSB
In Chernihiv region, a border inspector was detained, who collected information for the special services of the Russian Federation on the organization of protection and defense of the northern section of the border.
The detainee was informed of the suspicion of treason committed under the conditions of martial law (Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The main department of internal and own security “Center” received advance information about the criminal activities of the border guard in advance, and a pre-trial investigation was launched.
At the places of residence and service of the defendant, urgent investigative actions took place, which were carried out by an interdepartmental group consisting of officers of the BVB of the State Border Guard Service, counterintelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Chernihiv region and the Chernihiv regional prosecutor's office, as a result of which indisputable evidence was obtained involvement in criminal activity.
The investigation established that the border guard was recruited by representatives of the FSB of the Russian Federation. The traitor planned to convey information to his curator for organizing sabotage activities in the border areas of Ukraine. The offender has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention. The investigation is ongoing.
