Exported from Ukraine 700 kg of caviar and other contraband for UAH 5 million - was detained at the border with Poland
Attempts to illegally move undeclared goods across the Ukrainian-Polish border were blocked at the Rava-Ruska checkpoint.
The 31-year-old driver entered Ukraine by minibus “Opel”. At the initiative of the border guards of the operational-search unit of the Lviv Detachment, the car was sent for additional inspection. During a joint inspection with customs officers, border guards found among the driver's personal belongings almost 700 kg of caviar. In addition, behind the decorative trim of the car and in a specially made stash between the floor and the bottom of the car, inspectors found 4,380 units of electronic cigarettes.
On this fact, customs officers drew up a protocol. The goods and the vehicle were seized. At market prices, the estimated value of the seized is about 5 million hryvnias.
