On February 16, Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky addressed Ukrainians during the UAnational Telemarathon, together with the occasion of the Day of Unity, launched by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

The Minister noted that the Ukrainian and global information space is flooded with reports about possible aggression by the Russian Federation against the background of the concentration near the Ukrainian borders of about 140 thousand of its troops. Denis Monastyrsky stressed that the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the Armed Forces today is the guarantor of Ukraine's security and hope. “Are we preparing for any scenarios?

Yes, we are preparing. Can we be intimidated? No, that is not possible,” the interior minister said.

Addressing the employees of the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and servicemen of the Armed Forces, Denis Monastyrsky stressed the importance of their unity and their service and work at this time.

“Dear policemen, guards, border guards, rescuers, there are 300,000 of you, your families - more than a million. Likewise, a million servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their families. It is you who today are the guarantor of Ukraine's security and hope. People will believe you today. Today, the National Police, the Armed Forces and the National Guard are united. I am proud of you and stand by your side in your service. And each of the Ukrainians, who today wears a yellow-blue ribbon, also stands next to you. I am convinced that every employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is doing everything possible in his place so that all citizens are at peace today,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.

The minister also called on Ukrainians to reject the excitement and fear that are deliberately fueled by fakes and false messages.

“We are discovering thousands of fake and false messages, the purpose of which is to incite fear and panic among the civilian population of Ukraine. That is why hundreds of police officers appealed to citizens with a call “no one is panicking or afraid!”, - said Denis Monastyrsky.

In addition, he stressed that law enforcement officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have worked out all possible scenarios for the seizure of administrative buildings. In case of any attempts to seize them or separatist manifestations in Ukraine, the security forces will respond instantly.

“We have worked out all possible scenarios of seizure of administrative buildings, police departments. The necessary decisions will be made extremely quickly. We will not allow any separatist manifestations inside the country like in 2014 in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk. In any scenario, if someone thinks about taking over the administrative building, the reaction of law enforcement agencies will be immediate and harsh. Whoever it is, a new “bitter” or a new “shtepa”, — the minister informed.

Denis Monastyrskyi also noted that personal data and funds of citizens, the state and Ukrainian businesses in bank accounts are protected and stored. Cyber police units are on maximum alert to repel cyber attacks.

“Yesterday was one of the largest cyber attacks. They tried to “flood” the websites of state bodies, once again attack the application “Diia” and the largest banks of Ukraine. Thank you to everyone who was involved in the unified cyber defense of Ukraine, which also includes representatives of the cyber police. This attempt failed! There was an attack, including on the website of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but today the application “Diya”, state banks and relevant sites work without hindrance,” he said.
