Eight conscripted men tried to illegally enter Romania
Within the framework of operational and preventive measures “March-2023” during the last day, the border guards of the Mukachevo detachment stopped at the state border eight conscripts who wanted to leave the territory of Ukraine. All the attackers tried to get to Romania outside the checkpoints.
Four of the detainees planned to “conquer” the highlands. They were detained by border outfits from the border service department “Yablunivka”. Two of the violators arrived in Transcarpathia from Ternopil region, one from Cherkasy region and another from Zhytomyr region.
Four more intruders were detained by the soldiers of the Tyachiv department. Three of them are on the banks of the Tisa River. The men were dressed in wetsuits. Changeable clothes, shoes, documents and money were carefully wrapped in polyethylene. The violators had inflated car cameras with them, with the help of which they planned to swim across a reservoir unknown to them. All men arrived in Transcarpathia from other regions: Ternopil region, Vinnytsia region and Odessa region. How dangerous the attempts to overcome the cold and full-water Ysa were, they did not know.
It is worth noting that now in Transcarpathia at night the air temperature drops below zero degrees. The depth of the river reaches three meters, width - 50 meters. During the year, 14 cases of death of men during attempts to cross the river section of the border were recorded.
Another resident of Odessa region was detained by a border guard on the outskirts of the village of Solotvino. The man admitted that he arrived in Transcarpathia for the purpose of illegally crossing the border. For the organization of his “trip” he paid 2.5 thousand dollars.
Currently, the operatives of the unit identify persons involved in the organization of illegal transportation of persons across the border.
In relation to the detainees, protocols have been drawn up on their commission of administrative offenses under Art. 204-1 KUPAP “Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine”, the cases are referred to the court.
