Open border with Poland: Ukraine has updated the first checkpoint
On the Ukrainian-Polish border, an updated checkpoint Krakivets-Korchov has started working, which has been modernized within the framework of the Open Border project. After the work carried out, its bandwidth will increase by one and a half times. Andriy Demchenko, spokesman of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, told about this in the Ukraine-Ukrinform Media Center.
“During the work, the number of lanes for trucks was increased - from four to ten, additional pavilions for customs and passport control were created. Accordingly, the number of border guards and customs officers increased, Poland provided special container modules for them,” he said.
The Open Border project provides for the elimination of bottlenecks on the western border and the improvement of logistics in the Ukraine-EU direction. To do this, it is planned to reconstruct the infrastructure of existing checkpoints, build new checkpoints, introduce joint border and customs control with neighboring states.
