“Retribution” for winning tenders: police detained the director of the municipal institution of the regional council in Zaporizhzhia
The amount of “rollback” was 15% of the total amount of contracts — UAH 100,000.
The corruption scheme and its organizers were exposed by the operatives of the Strategic Investigation Department in Zaporizhia Oblast and the investigators of the Investigative Department of the Regional Police. The scheme was set up by the director of the municipal institution of the regional council and his deputy. For winning tenders and signing contracts for the supply of food, they demanded 15% of the “rollback” of the total amount of contracts concluded.
Yesterday, June 15, the police detained the head of the institution while receiving the next “tranche”. Previously, the facts of receipt of illegal benefits by both defendants were documented.
The director of the municipal institution is detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The issue of reporting suspicion to both participants in the scheme is resolved. Their actions are qualified under Article 368 (Acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
