More than 1114 hectares of the territory of the liberated settlements of Kharkiv region have been cleared of explosive objects
This was announced today, October 20, by the Head of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kharkiv Oblast Oleksandr Volobuyev during a joint briefing with the heads of the KHOVA and regional units of the Prosecutor's Office, the National Police and the State Emergency Service, dedicated to the reintegration of the liberated territories of the Kharkiv region.
According to Oleksandr Volobuyev, immediately after the de-occupation, the units of the State Emergency Service, in particular, three established units of the State Emergency Service from different regions of Ukraine, began work on restoring normal living conditions in the settlements of Kharkiv region.
“The primary task of the State Emergency Service is currently the humanitarian demining and cleaning of critical infrastructure facilities, water, gas, heat, electricity networks to ensure their restoration and safe functioning. Currently, more than 1114 hectares of liberated settlements, about 187 km of power lines, 160 km of highways, 147 km of gas pipelines, 103 km of railway tracks, 37 critical infrastructure objects have been surveyed and cleared of GNP,” Oleksandr Volobuyev said.
He also noted that in the de-occupied territories, work is underway to disassemble rubble, dismantle destroyed building structures, deliver humanitarian aid to people, carry out restoration work in buildings and structures, and perform other urgent works. Rescuers use mobile power plants to provide electricity to water wells, hot food places, hospitals, gas stations, residential districts and other critical infrastructure facilities, with the help of tanks provide drinking and technical water to residents of liberated communities, provide them with psychological support.
“The rescuers of the State Emergency Service will do everything to restore the normal standard of living of people in the de-occupied settlements of Kharkiv region as soon as possible,” the head of the regional unit of the SNS summed up.
