Officials who tried to cross the border had no legal grounds. The spokesman of the State Border Guard Service Andrei Demchenko stated this on the air of the tele-marathon.
“Since the changes for the departure of officials abroad were introduced and they entered into force as of now, between five and ten persons subject to these restrictions have not been allowed at the state border. They did not have the grounds that fall under the exclusion, and received a refusal,” said Andriy Demchenko.
According to him, these changes came into force on Saturday, and were preceded by the decision of the RNBU.
“This applies to civil servants, people's deputies, prosecutors, judges, representatives of state authorities, as well as representatives who are booked for the mobilization period. They have the right to travel abroad only on a business trip. However, there are a number of exceptions, particularly for women, as well as men who are single parents, if they want to visit their children abroad, or if they accompany children. Children under 18 years inclusive. The categories that fall under the exception must, in addition to a passport, have a birth certificate under control and confirm the child's stay abroad — this may be education, treatment or consular registration, etc. And the third exception is the death of close relatives abroad. In this case, the decision may be made by the Head of the State Fiscal Service,” the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service said.
Andriy Demchenko also said that the government has also determined ministries, departments and state authorities and all those who fall under this rule to provide lists of such persons to the DPSU Administration.
“This information is already coming to us. But this is not only a question of border control, it is a responsibility to the state,” he said.
Andriy Demchenko added that the government has clearly determined that this category of persons can follow exclusively on a business trip or there are a number of exceptions. Other grounds are not suitable for them.
