Grenade explosion in Brovary: police informed the defendant about the suspicion
As of today, May 12, the policeman and the offender are in the hospital, where they are being provided with medical care. As a result of the explosion, a 37-year-old law enforcement officer suffered injuries to his legs and left arm. There is no threat to his life and health.
The 37-year-old offender himself was also injured, namely an injury to his left leg and both hands.
In addition, it is known that the offender was already criminally prosecuted for property crimes and possession of drugs and was wanted at the time of the crime.
Investigators have already informed the defendant about the suspicion of committing crimes stipulated in Part 1 of Art. 348 (encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and Part 1 of Art. 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
For an attempt on the life of a police officer, punishment is provided in the form of imprisonment for up to fifteen years or life imprisonment.
