Today, May 3, Vladimir Zelensky, during a working trip to Khmelnytskyi region, presented state awards to border guards. The award ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko.
“I congratulate you on the professional day — the day of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, which we celebrated this week. I thank you on behalf of all Ukrainians for your reliability and strength in defending our border and fighting for Ukraine together with all our Defence and Security Forces. Thank you to every unit, every soldier and commander of the State Border Service of Ukraine for being a really strong support for our state. That is how it should remain in the future. We all expect from you exactly no less professionalism and no less ability to multiply the Ukrainian experience of resilience and victories in battles against the occupier. I thank you for the fact that Ukrainians can be confident in your strength,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.
Thus, the Head of State awarded the Order of the Golden Star with the award of the title Hero of Ukraine to two servicemen:

Evacuated 34 dead and 105 seriously wounded comrades from the battlefield, despite heavy fire from the Russian occupiers, mines and constant work of attack drones.
Master Sergeant Oleg Prishnevsky. Served at the State Fiscal Service for almost 30 years. In January 2024, in the Avdievsky direction, he ordered his subordinates to take the wounded comrades to shelter, and himself covered their departure with machine gun fire, continuing to destroy the Russian invaders.
Also, two border guards received the Presidential Medal “Cross of Combat Merit”:
Colonel Andriy Bizhyk. His personnel bravely held the defense in the area of Vodyanoe, Vuhledar, Novomykhailivka, Avdiyivka and Krasnogorovka. Units under his leadership destroyed 43 units of armored vehicles, about 300 invaders and a Russian Su-25.
Staff Sergeant Dmitry Shvets. Repelled enemy attacks in Donetsk region. While performing one of the combat missions, he was wounded, but despite this, he helped wounded comrades and evacuated them to shelter.
