Armed robbery attack on agricultural firm in Vinnytsia region: operatives and KORD fighters detained four criminals in Kyiv region (VIDEO)
Threatening with a gun, the attackers tied up a security guard with tape, took money from a safe, company documents and disappeared from the scene. Weapons, work clothes, surveillance and communication devices, about 230 thousand hryvnias, cars and other physical evidence were seized from the detainees. For committing robbery, they face up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The report of the offense came to the 102 hotline on the night of August 8 from a 49-year-old security guard of an enterprise located in the Gaysinsky district. The man said that unknown armed persons, dressed in camouflage uniforms and with masks on their faces, penetrated the administrative premises of the agricultural firm. Threatened with a gun, they tied up a security guard and broke into a safe, from which they stole about 230,000 hryvnias. The attackers also seized the documents of the enterprise, after which they fled in a car.
According to the chief of police of Vinnytsia Oblast Ivan Ishchenko, a special police operation was introduced to detain intruders in the region. As a result of the planned complex of operational-search and investigative actions, the employees of the Criminal Investigation Department and operational services of the GUNP detained the defendants at the exit from the city of Bila Tserkva. During the search in the car of the detained “SsangYong”, law enforcement officers found and seized weapons, cartridges, radios, hacking tools, thermal imagers, binoculars, work clothes, mobile phones, bank cards, money stolen from the company and other physical evidence.
Four men, aged 38 to 59, were detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. It is known that they are previously convicted of committing robbery, theft, theft and the creation of a criminal community, as well as participation in it. Currently, their involvement in the commission of similar crimes on the territory of Ukraine is being checked.
On this fact, investigators are investigating criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Art. 187 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to fifteen years with confiscation of property.
Investigative actions continue. Procedural management is carried out by the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office.
