“Your financial account has been added”: we warn of a new cyber fraud scheme
Scammers under the guise of an attached financial account distribute links to fraudulent resources and try to take possession of citizens' data.
How do intruders act?
WhatsApp distributes a phishing link to a cryptocurrency “wallet”. Using the link, they offer to create a new account and acquire VIP status in order to
withdraw money. In this way, fraudsters receive funds and personal data.
How to protect yourself?
Ignore messages from strangers. Do not follow suspicious links.
Do
not enter personal financial information on the sites. Block such users and send a complaint to the messenger moderators.
If you have reported any information to fraudsters or sent funds, contact the police immediately.
