Prices for paid license plates have changed in Ukraine
Since today, prices for paid license plates for some categories of vehicles have changed. This applies to both cars with internal combustion engines and electric vehicles, buses, motorcycles and mopeds. On November 18, the relevant Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1202 of November 14, 2023 entered into force.
Now very popular among drivers are paid license plates, issued at will and containing the appropriate combination of four digits. The greatest demand is observed for license plates that contain the corresponding combination: 0001, 0007 and 7777, as well as type 1-1-1 (signs for all types of cars).
Due to the high demand and limited supply, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved new prices for paid license plates. In particular:
- 0001, 0007 and 7777 — 80,000 UAH;
- four single digits (except 6666 and 7777) — UAH 50,000;
- consecutive combinations of numbers from 0002 to 0005, 0008 and 0009 — UAH 50,000;
- two consecutive pairs of identical numbers — 15 000 UAH;
- from serial numbers 0123 and 1234 — 15 000 UAH;
- start with two zeros, and the following numbers are not the same — UAH 10,000.
The cost of paid license plates with the number “6" was also significantly reduced due to low demand and high supply, namely:
- numbers 0006 and 6666 — 10,000 UAH;
- of four digits — two consecutive pairs of identical digits, one of which 66 — 4000 UAH;
- of four digits, three of which are 6 and arranged in a row — 4000 UAH.
The updated cost of toll license plates is indicated without VAT, and applies to cars and buses.
In addition, the cost of paid license plates of the corresponding combination for motorcycles, trailers and mopeds has been reduced.
For example, previously a license plate with serial numbers 0123 or 1234 cost 10 thousand hryvnias. And a four-digit license plate containing three identical digits, which are not arranged in a row - 4 thousand hryvnias. Now the cost of assigning any available paid alphanumeric combination of license plates is 2 thousand hryvnias.
Paid license plates have a defined combination of numbers and are issued exclusively at the request of drivers.
The changes approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will allow to proportionally regulate the demand for the actual availability of license plates and eliminate the likely corruption component.
Please note that the new prices do not apply to paid license plates that citizens booked until November 17.
