Ukraine has launched an updated electronic system for accounting of the shelter fund for the civilian population
In Ukraine, an updated information system for accounting and visualization of the fund of protective structures of civil protection has begun work. Now citizens will have quick access to information and therefore quick access to security.
“Today, in the conditions of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the protection of the population and territories is, of course, one of the priority tasks of the State Emergency Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. And shelter is one of the measures of protection that saves the lives of our citizens,” said T.V.O. Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchuk.
Employees of the State Emergency Service and police conduct monitoring and quarterly surveys to update data on the state of shelters. At the end of 2023, the number of shelters that comply with the standards has increased by almost 2 thousand.
Today, about 84% of the more than 60,000 civil protection facilities in the territory controlled by Ukraine meet the established requirements. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, this figure was three times less.
The updated interactive system for accounting of protective structures of civil protection allows you to quickly and efficiently work with statistical data and will provide information to the population about the availability and availability of shelters. With the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the shelter accounting system is now available in the “Diya” application.
The project was implemented on the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Assistance in the work was provided by international partners - USAID “HOVERLA” and the Eastern Europe Foundation.
