National tour “Cinema for Victory” started in Ukraine
The first screening within the framework of the national tour of State Film “Cinema for Victory” took place in Vinnytsia region. The servicemen of the National Guard were presented with the film by director Ekaterina Stepankova “Wind from the East”. In the future, various tapes will be presented to the military and forcibly displaced persons in 15 regions of the country.
The project is implemented on the initiative of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the State Film Agency of Ukraine, the Association “Look Ukrainian!” and with the support of the “MHP-Hromadi” Foundation, NGO “UkrKinofest”, NGO “Union of TV and Film Industry Entrepreneurs”, separate units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine in cooperation with the regional military-civilian administrations and the National Police of Ukraine.
The tour was opened by the unsurpassed Ada Nikolaevna Rogovtseva, who starred in the film “Wind from the East”. The actress often travels to support defenders. Together with Ada Rogovtseva, her daughter, Ekaterina Stepankova, came, who said that they began trips to the front at the beginning of the war in 2014. Then they immediately went on a tour of the liberated cities: Lysychansk, Severodonetsk, Slavyansk.
The guards note that such events make it possible to enrich themselves culturally, to get to know more about Ukrainian cinema and the people who make it. And also to understand how important cinema is in our cultural life.
