The Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights held a meeting with the families of captured border guards
In total, 50 families of border guards of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Izmail, Sumy border detachments and Mariupol maritime security detachment arrived at the meeting.
The event, organized by the Office of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Commissioner for Human Rights, was attended by representatives of the Coordination Headquarters on the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the National Information Bureau, the United Center for the Coordination of Search and Release of Prisoners of War, Illegally Deprived of Persons Due to Aggression against Ukraine under the SBU and the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine.
During the meeting, it was noted that all prisoners of war without exception are submitted to the lists for exchange, and Ukraine is doing everything to return its people home. At the same time, this process is quite difficult - because of the inhumane position of the Russian side.
“If the return of our defenders to their homes depended only on Ukraine, we would return everyone,” said Dmytro Lubinets, Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, adding that work in this direction will continue until the release of the last prisoner.
