In Odessa, the police detained a citizen of the Russian Federation, who was on the international wanted list
For committing crimes in the United States, the wanted man was sentenced to life imprisonment.
As the operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Odessa region of the National Police of Ukraine found out, a citizen of another country is accused of money fraud, “knocking out” debts, racketeering, fraud, hacking, drug crimes. For committing crimes in the United States, he was sentenced to life in prison and issued an arrest warrant, and was subsequently placed on international wanted list.
As soon as law enforcement became aware of his whereabouts, they made an arrest. Today, on January 18, in Odessa, operatives, investigators of the regional police together with the prosecutor's office detained a 48-year-old wanted person in accordance with Articles 208 and 582 (Peculiarities of detention of a person who committed criminal offenses outside Ukraine) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
According to operational data, the man illegally entered the territory of Ukraine. This information is currently being verified. The prosecutor of the Odessa regional prosecutor's office is preparing a petition to the court to apply arrest to the offender. The competent authorities of the United States have already been informed of his detention.
