In Odessa, a group of city council officials received suspicions, which demanded bribes for advertising
Also, a group of officials established another criminal scheme, with the help of which men of conscription age were given the opportunity to evade military service.
According to the developed plan, employees of the municipal enterprise recorded violations of the rules for placing advertising on the facades of service establishments or catering establishments in the city of Odessa, namely, without permits.
However, along with documents on the need to dismantle advertising structures, business entities received bank account details. Remittances from entrepreneurs allowed officials to “not notice” in the subsequent violation of the rules for placing outdoor advertising, and its owners to avoid dismantling.
As established by law enforcement officers, every month the officials of the Odessa City Council received from 300,000 to 500,000 hryvnias of illegal benefits.
In addition, in the course of documenting the illegal activities of the defendants, the police established the facts of their involvement in the organization of another scheme - the illegal transportation of persons of conscription age across the state border of Ukraine.
On February 29, police conducted 15 searches. Also on the basis of the collected evidence, an employee of the structural unit of the city council and two officials of the municipal enterprise were informed of the suspicion. Depending on their participation in the “schemes”, three defendants are incriminated: • Part 3 of Art.
369-2 (Abuse of influence);
• Part 3 of Art. 332 (Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Currently, a circle of persons is established who were involved in the production of fake medical documents for evaders and in a corrupt advertising scheme. Procedural guidance in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office.
