During the presentation of awards to the servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that each of those present was a hero who performed a real feat, defending the independence of Ukraine.

Today, January 17, the Minister of Internal Affairs met with the National Guardsmen, who showed personal courage and courage in the performance of military duty in repelling and deterring the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

“The Ukrainian is a symbol of war, and Ukraine is a symbol of Victory. Every day of the war takes away life, health, strength, nerves, and each of us understands what price we pay for speaking Ukrainian, talking about Ukraine its independence, and for us to stay here forever — for our children, descendants, for everyone who will live on the territory of our state within the constitutional borders. A lot of battles are still ahead of us, but today Soledar, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, Marinka, and yesterday Popasna, Rubezhnoe, Severodonetsk, Vyshgorod, Lyutyzh are a list of settlements with which the fates of each of us are connected. It is in our power today to stop the enemy, the shelling, and no one else, no other army in the world will be able to do it. Only here and now, we on our land will be able to do this and we will — victory will be upon us,” Denis Monastyrsky said, congratulating the servicemen.

“Thanks to unity, discipline and order, our police and the National Guard, the State Emergency Service, the Migration Service and the Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to withstand the first days and this gives us the opportunity to defeat the enemy. For impeccable service to the Ukrainian people, more than 100 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received state awards. These are the Order of Bohdan Khmelnitsky III degree, “For Courage” of the second degree and III degree and medals “For Military Service to Ukraine” and “Defender of the Fatherland”.

By the decree of the President of Ukraine, the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree was awarded to Colonel Igor Orinko, who on February 24, 2022, during the all-out offensive of the Russian army, provided the defense of the city. At the same time, Master Sergeant Serhiy Romanenko, 3rd degree, was awarded the Order “For Courage”, who destroyed several units of enemy equipment during combat tasks in the defense of the city of Chernihiv and prevented the enemy from breaking through on the approaches to the city.
