Traditionally, from November 25 to December 10, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine joins the All-Ukrainian Action “16 Days Against Violence”, which was initiated by the First World Institute of Women's Leadership in 1991.

The “16 Days Against Violence” campaign continues every year to raise public awareness and create a social space free from violence.

The day was officially declared by the UN General Assembly in 1999, but it began to be celebrated in 1981 — as a memorial to the tragic deaths of the three Mirabal sisters who were brutally murdered during the dictatorship of Dominican ruler Rafael Trujillo in 1960.

During this sixteen-day event, the SNS will celebrate other important dates:

• December 1 — International AIDS Day;

December 2 — International Day Against Slavery;

• December 3 — International Day of Persons with Disabilities;

December 5 — International Volunteer Day;

December 6 is the anniversary of the Montreal incident.

9 December — International Day Against Corruption;

December 10 — International Human Rights Day.

Thus, almost every day in the SNS system from November 25 to December 10 will be devoted to facts and arguments about any form of violence in the public or private spheres, which constitutes a violation of human rights.
