For two days, representatives of the Main Directorate, the National Academy and the military unit 3070 of the National Guard of Ukraine considered the issues of improving the protection of public security and order and gender integration in the system of the National Guard of Ukraine.

Experts from Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands and Ukraine arrived to assist the Ukrainian military. Together, they worked to identify ways to improve the interoperability of units using existing methods and best European practices to speed up this process.

During the meeting, experts from Portugal and Spain introduced the guards to the main areas with which representatives of the Consultative Mission of the European Union work and talked about international standards and concepts for the protection of public order. It should be noted that one of the directions of the ECSC is to advise the National Police and the National Guard of Ukraine on coordination and interaction between these structures.

While working in groups, the guards were faced with the task of developing proposals for strengthening operational compatibility and interdepartmental cooperation and coordination between NGU and NPU. Representatives of NGU were asked to determine technical, human and procedural operational compatibility. For their part, the experts provided advice on the development of civil security strategies.

In addition, the Gender Counsellor of the European Commission Gisela Duetting with representatives of the National Guard held a master class on gender mainstreaming in the EU countries.

At the end, the NGU officers presented their proposals regarding increasing the level of interoperability of law enforcement structures and the gender component.
