Today, January 28, during the hour of questions to the Government in the Verkhovna Rada, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced a 10% increase in salaries of policemen, rescuers and guards and other law enforcement officers in February, and the prospect of a similar increase during the year.

“The internal affairs system is not only police officers who perform their duty with dignity. These are rescuers, soldiers of the National Guard, employees of the State Migration Service, who also carry out their daily service for a fairly small amount of money. We all understood, working on the state budget, that an increase in salaries for rescuers and police officers is a necessity. Because in the last three years it was almost not carried out,” said Denis Monastyrsky.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine noted that the wage fund was increased due to revenues to the budget for excisable goods. According to Denis Monastyrsky, in the two months of the “Excise” operation, revenues increased by 2.3 billion hryvnias, compared to the same period last year. And these funds are aimed at a ten percent salary increase for police officers, rescuers, guards and other employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, which will take place in a stagemonth.

“I recall yesterday's case when a dangerous criminal was detained. Of course, the patrolmen showed themselves, who understood that they would meet a person with a gun. And already in a few days the first increase in the salary of police officers. I think this is fair, and we will be able to make the next increase during this year by another 10%,” the interior minister said.
