All units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs adequately resist the enemy — Denis Monastyrsky
This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs today, December 30, during the celebrations on the occasion of awarding national guards and border guards, police and rescuers, departmental medics who selflessly defend our country, care for security and save the lives of Ukrainians.
“Today we summarize not only the year, but also a certain era. We turn the page: today, 100 years ago, the USSR was founded, and it was today that Putin wanted to become the next tsar of the Russian Empire. Until today, he wanted to crush Ukraine, the Ukrainian nation, actually enter the territory of other European states and to this day to re-establish the new format of the Soviet Union. But at first he had one obstacle in the form of our people and each of the people who took up arms, who helped with volunteer efforts, each of the medics who undertook to help wounded servicemen, every caring citizen who fulfilled his duty and right to be a defender of our state,” said Denis Monastyrshtyr Skyy.
He stressed that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the functionality of the system of units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has changed by more than 80%: now, in addition to their usual duties, in particular, the National Guard performs defense functions along with the Armed Forces; border guards also hold a line of defense in certain areas of the front, rescuers under repeated shelling extinguishes fires and disassembles the rubble of thousands of destroyed houses.
“It is with honor and pride that all representatives of our system have stood up and continue to show an extremely high class of organization, courage and fighting spirit. We do not retreat, do not surrender positions, moreover, we return positions to those units that find it difficult. 2023 is ahead, but we do not measure now by years — we say that our victory lies ahead. We all have to put a lot of effort into this, we will pay an even higher price than we have paid until now. We have already paid a great price: these are the dead, the thousands of wounded, the thousands of destinies that have changed forever. But this is the price of our independence, the price of Europe's security. And that phenomenal turn of events that took place this year is turning world history around. President Volodymyr Zelensky is today the most outstanding leader in the world, the Ukrainian defense forces are the most combat-capable on the continent, and many of the best epithets today are associated with Ukraine, with all of us, those who today fulfill their duty,” said Denis Monastyrsky.
He expressed gratitude to all the heroes present in the hall on behalf of the State, the President, the Government and from himself.
“Today, there are people who practically without a single shot captured combat positions, shot down planes and cruise missiles, withstood the extreme pressure of the enemy, who rescued from under the rubble and extinguished fires, people who lost their health, but did not lose faith in our victory. We are moving forward to our victory and we will definitely achieve it,” Denis Monastyrsky is convinced.
With a moment of silence, those present honored those who at the cost of their own lives brought our joint victory over the enemy closer.
On this day, about 130 employees of the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were awarded for their personal courage and courage, steadfastness and determination in the performance of military duty in conditions associated with the risk to life during measures to ensure national security and defense, repelling and deterring armed aggression of the Russian Federation. The Minister awarded to the heroes the Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky III degree, the Order “For Courage” of the Second degree, the Order of Daniel Halytsky, the Medal “For Impeccable Service” of the III degree; the Medal “For Military Service to Ukraine”; the Medal “Defender of the Vitchizz” Medal “For the Saved Life”, was also awarded the honorary title “Honored Doctor of Ukraine”.
