The government has updated the procedure for sending defenders of Ukraine for treatment abroad
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Procedure for sending persons from the components of the defense and security forces, injured in connection with the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, for treatment abroad.
Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated October 14, 2022 No. 1169 provides for amendments to the Procedure approved by Resolution No. 411 of April 5, 2022.
Obligatory conditions for crossing the state border for the purpose of treatment for a certain category of persons are the presence of a conclusion on the need for referral for treatment abroad, as well as a notification from the Emergency Response Coordination Centre of the European Commission. This notification is sent via the electronic platform “Early Warning and Response System” about the readiness of a particular country that is a member of the European Union to accept treatment free of charge. Also, the victim must have a written confirmation of the readiness of a health care institution of a foreign state to be admitted for treatment free of charge.
The initiators of sending defenders for treatment abroad are health institutions in which they are undergoing treatment or rehabilitation. The corresponding petition has an arbitrary form.
Transportation of defenders of Ukraine, according to the pre-approved list of persons, to the state border is organized by the Ministry of Health with the assistance of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Administration of the State Border Guard Service. After crossing the state border, transportation to health facilities of foreign countries is carried out with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health.
