The relevant decision was adopted at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on August 11.

As is known, on the night of August 3 to 4, 2023, in some regions of the Republic of Slovenia, significant precipitation in the form of rains began, which led to large-scale flooding of the territory and landslides.

According to preliminary data, 6 people were killed, 23 people were injured, thousands of residents were evacuated, houses, roads were destroyed, transport connections and electricity supplies were disrupted.

In turn, the Government of Slovenia has appealed for international assistance through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism and the Euro-Atlantic Coordination Centre for the Response to Natural Disasters and Disasters.

Thus, in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated August 10, 2023 No. 484 “On the provision of humanitarian assistance to the Republic of Slovenia”, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine together with the State Emergency Service developed a draft order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On the provision of humanitarian assistance to the Republic of Slovenia in the Republic of Slovenia Consequences of the Flood.”

The project envisages sending an emergency rescue unit of the State Emergency Service to the Republic of Slovenia by road to assist in the elimination of the effects of flooding.
