At a checkpoint in Kiev at night, the driver of a passenger car knocked down a soldier of the National Guard and injured two more soldiers
Today, July 25, at 00:05 hours, the Kiev police received a report on the special line 102 that the driver of the Volkswagen car committed a car accident with the victims at a checkpoint near the Svyatoshin metro station. An ambulance and an investigative and operational team of the capital's head of accident investigation immediately went to the scene.
Previously, law enforcement officers established that the 23-year-old helmsman at high speed attacked two servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine, who were serving at the checkpoint. Then the car rammed two more parked cars, in one of which was the military territorial equipment center.
As a result of the collision, a 49-year-old soldier died from his injuries on the spot, and his 26-year-old service mate with injuries of varying severity was hospitalized to a medical facility. Another wounded soldier was assisted on the spot.
The police detained the driver. Investigators of the Metropolitan Police began criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 286 KKU.
As part of the pre-trial investigation, the police establish all the circumstances and causes of this tragic event.
