In honor of the border guards of the Luhansk detachment issued a stamp
For the anniversary of the foundation of the Luhansk border detachment, a special stamp was issued. The commander of the detachment Colonel Oleksandr Osipets and the commander of the Volyn operational group Major General Volodymyr Myronyuk took part in the repayment with a special postage stamp.
Stamps, envelopes and postcards with the symbols of the Luhansk border detachment were issued according to an individual design within the “Own Mark” service from Ukrposhta.
The image for the brand was created by Ukrainian artist Beata Kurkul. She is known for drawings of Ukrainian border guards and military forces of the Armed Forces. The artist generated the basis for the sketch using a neural network that converts the written text into an image.
According to her, the basis for the creation of the brand was the chevron of the detachment with the image of Phoenix and the border guards themselves.
“I thought it was possible to combine Phoenix and the border guard. She gave a request to the neural network and, together with the head of the press service, selected several options. I took several fragments from several sketches, combined and finished them,” Beata said.
The total number of stamps, envelopes and postcards issued is 56. They will be received as a gift by volunteers and public figures who provide assistance to the squad.
The Luhansk Border Guard was established on October 20, 1992. The unit's combat path began on June 2, 2014, when border guards fought with separatists and Russian mercenaries over a border outpost in Luhansk.
By the decree of the President of Ukraine, the detachment was given the honorary name “the name of the Hero of Ukraine Colonel Evgeny Pikus”.
Luhansk border guards took part in battles along the entire eastern part of the front: Rubizhne, Kreminna, Lysychansk, Severodonetsk, Popasna, Siversk, Fedorivka, Svyatogorsk, Bakhmut.
