About 41% of educational institutions are provided with shelters, the situation is best in Lviv region, — Denis Monastyrsky
This was stated today by the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky during a meeting with the Minister of Education Serhiy Shkarlet, representatives of the regional OCA and public organizations. The event took place at the National Aviation University, where ministers also inspected the state of storage facilities.
Within a month and a half, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system together with educators participate in the survey of educational institutions. They also help local authorities and managers of these institutions in creating safe conditions for the organization of training. During this period, more than 80% of educational institutions have been checked, this is more than 21 thousand facilities.
During the meeting, Denis Monastyrsky stressed that because of the war, the understanding of readiness for the educational process has changed dramatically and first of all it is necessary to take care of the safety of children.
“The main role in this process is played by local authorities, because they are responsible for preparation. In turn, we assigned a rescuer to each educational institution in the regions - this is a specific employee who will also be responsible for whether the institution is ready for the new school year. Today, according to our data, about 41% of educational institutions of all levels are provided with shelters,” the Minister noted.
Speaking about the preparation of the regions for the beginning of the school year, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that today the educational institutions of the Nikolaev region are the worst equipped with shelters. There, protective facilities are equipped only in 16% of educational institutions. The best situation is in Lviv, where 83% of institutions are ready to start offline training.
In turn, the Minister of Education Serhiy Shkarlet stressed that all schools in Ukraine should become a safe area for applicants and employees.
“The safety factor is the main argument for starting traditional learning. The educational process in the face-to-face mode can take place only if there are protective structures in educational institutions. In addition, the decision on the format of training is made by the head of the OVA, and necessarily taking into account the opinion of parents. If parents do not agree with the full-time form of study, they can choose a distance form or an individual schedule, or transfer the child to an external or family form of study. No child will be excluded from the educational process,” the minister said.
He stressed that the form of organization of the educational process may change during the school year depending on the security situation in the village.
“For parents, the issue of child safety is very important. And we see that in places where the administration of an educational institution works with parents on preparation - there is a result. However, this situation is not everywhere and we are grateful that the Ministry of Internal Affairs helps such institutions to speed up their preparation for the beginning of the school year,” said Alyona Parfyonova, a representative of the NGO “Parents of SOS”.
