Ukrainian defenders personify the shield and the sword that protect our State — Denis Monastyrsky
Today, during the events on the occasion of the Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine, the children of police officers from the regions affected by the military aggression of Russia handed over the flag to the fighters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who stand in defense of the state. The fee was handed over to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk and the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky. During the event, they also awarded state honors to the best guards, border guards, policemen, rescuers and employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system.
“This is a special day for our country, because it combines a large number of holidays: the Intercession, and the Day of the Cossacks, and the Day of the Creation of the UPA, and the Day of the Defender and Defender. This is extremely important, because in this holiday the whole essence of the protection of Ukraine is accumulated. Just as the word “will” is encrypted in our Coat of Arms, as in our Anthem there are words: “Soul and body we bow for our freedom...”, so this holiday is a battery of all the best, protective potential of Ukraine. It is what unites us with glorious previous generations, and it is something that we will pass on to our future generations. This is excitement, love for one's Motherland, patriotism and courage,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on behalf of the Parliament congratulated the fighters and wished everyone present a speedy Victory. The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine also joined the congratulations.
“I want to say that today the Mother of God protects our land with a shield and at the same time with a sword. The combination of these two symbols of the defense of our homeland is personified today by you, who is present in this hall. So I thank you all! And I want to assure that Ukraine will live, we will definitely win,” said Denis Monastyrsky, addressing the defenders present.
