Ukraine has joined the European Migration Network as an observer, — Mary Akopian
This was announced by Deputy Minister Mary Akopian today during the international conference “EU Solidarity with Ukraine: Protecting People Fleeing War”.
“We are pleased to receive a letter from European Commissioner Ilva Johansson agreeing to Ukraine's participation in observer status in the European Migration Network,” said Mary Akopian.
The Deputy Minister explained that by cooperating with the European Migration Network, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine was able to manage migration flows more effectively.
She also told foreign colleagues about the steps taken by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine at the national level to counteract human trafficking during Russia's war against Ukraine.
- In the Department of Migration Police with the involvement of regional units, a situation center has been created, which works around the clock. - The Coordination Headquarters for the Protection of Children's Rights in Martial Conditions has been created, which includes the Migration Police, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Prosecutor General's Office.
- A chat was created in Telegram Beware bot, with which citizens can learn about the risks of human trafficking, rules of safe employment, contacts of institutions providing assistance in Ukraine and abroad, forms of human trafficking and norms
legislation.
- Together with the Cyberpolice and mobile operators, SMS mailing to citizens traveling abroad with contacts of emergency services, IOM offices and diplomatic missions of Ukraine has been organized.
