Today on Europe Day, the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs became a full participant in the CIECA International Driver Testing Commission, which brings together competent bodies and organizations in the field of road safety and conducts theoretical and practical exams for obtaining the right to drive vehicles.

Membership in CIECA is particularly relevant for the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in view of the intensification of European integration reforms in Ukraine. It is associated with Ukraine acquiring the status of a candidate for membership in the European Union. From now on, participation in the International Driver Testing Commission will facilitate the implementation of a number of already launched projects and the preparation of new regulations that will bring the legislation of Ukraine closer to the provisions of EU legislation in this area.

In his letter regarding Ukraine's membership, CIECA President Rene Klesen noted: “By joining CIECA, the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will become part of a prestigious network of road safety and driver testing organizations in Europe and beyond.”

As soon as May, Ukraine will join the Congress, which is organized annually by CIECA. This will be the 55th General Assembly and Congress of CIECA, which will be hosted by one of the participants of the International Driver Testing Commission — the Austrian Road Safety Council.

Participation in the International Driver Testing Commission will make it possible to more effectively introduce EU standards in Ukraine and improve the processes of passing theoretical and practical exams, will contribute to the expansion of opportunities for recognition and exchange of Ukrainian driver's licenses in other countries without passing exams due to their unification. After all, it is the combination of efforts and constructive cooperation of the competent authorities in this area that is the key to achieving effective results.

This international association was founded in 1956 in The Hague, Netherlands. Today, CIECA unites the competent authorities of 38 countries of the world, of which 24 are members of the European Union.
