Ukraine can count on the support of the EU, - Josep Borrell
Ukraine's partners will supply new machinery and equipment for mining. This was stated by the High Representative of the EU, Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrel during a visit to the Kiev region, where, together with the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Mary Akopyan, he met with the sappers who are deporting the territory.
“We had the opportunity to see old equipment that was produced in Soviet times. And also we have had the opportunity to see new equipment that we will try to supply in greater quantities. This is a rather complicated technique, but we will try to supply such equipment, it was decided to allocate the first tranche of 25 million euros in order to purchase such equipment so that you can do your job and make life in Ukraine safer,” said the Vice-President of the European Commission.
He also added that he saw the worst consequences of hostilities in the world.
“When forests, agricultural land, and water bodies are polluted and as a result pollution from explosive objects, the civilian population suffers and there are victims among children. You can count on our support,” said Joseph Borel.
