Participants of the tragic events on “Pivdenmash” undergo rehabilitation at the medical center of NGU “Novi Sanzhary”
Guards arrived for psychological rehabilitation at the medical center of the National Guard of Ukraine in Novi Sanzhary, who were direct witnesses of the terrible events in the city of Dnipro. Medical Center “Novi Sanzhary” specializes in medical and psychological rehabilitation. The work of the psychological service of the center is aimed specifically at rehabilitation, which allows specialists to concentrate on improving the moral, mental and spiritual health of servicemen.
With the guards of military unit 3021, who were serving at that time alongside the suspect, a whole range of group and individual work activities will be held. In order to consolidate the result, from consultations and trainings, to psychological activities, a variety of medical procedures offered in the center will be involved.
Starting with a salt room and aromatherapy, servicemen will be able to undergo a comprehensive medical examination, visit a massage parlor, a variety of exercise machines, mud baths and others. In addition, there is a cuvette with therapeutic artesian water on the territory of the complex, for which many people come to this institution from many regions of Ukraine.
Military chaplain Father Gennady Kovalenko joined the working group of psychologists, which includes representatives of the medical institution and specialists from other military units. In addition to conducting spiritual talks, participating in prayer and repentance at will, he brought molds for making candles. In his opinion, the manufacturing process will interest the guards and help to distract and improve mood, because for them it will be news.
The psychologist of the medical center Umida Petrenko agrees with him: “As one of the methods we use art therapy, so this form will be interesting for further work with patients. And if this is combined with medical and psychological rehabilitation, a walk in the park on the territory of the sanatorium - the whole complex of our joint work of psychologists, doctors and chaplain will allow the children to quickly reboot and return to full service and normal life in the future.”
