Participants of territorial defense will be able to obtain permits for hunting weapons under expedited procedure — Oleksandr Facevych
This was announced by the Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine today, February 23, during a briefing on the topic: “State security: police work in the conditions of a strengthened regime”.
Oleksandr Fatsevich said that at the moment the total number of registered weapons, devices and gas pistols and revolvers among citizens is more than 1 million 200 thousand units. More than 709 thousand owners of firearms and more than 250 thousand owners of special equipment are registered.
“In February 2021, the authorized units issued almost 10 thousand permits for the purchase of various types of weapons. And for the same period this year — more than 10 thousand 300 such permits,” said the deputy head of the National Police.
At the same time, Oleksandr Fatsevich noted that people who will defend the country as part of the territorial defense will be able to obtain a permit for weapons under an accelerated procedure:
“The relevant instruction allows us not to provide us with some documents, for example, regarding the passage of training or special inspections. Also, each member of the voluntary formation, in accordance with the law, must present a certificate of non-criminal record. If he is a member of a terrorist organization and has a certificate, the arms control units will prioritize and process these documents much faster, and therefore give permission as soon as possible.”
At the same time, the deputy head of the National Police noted that at the moment there are no such appeals from members of the terrorist organization.
