Protect yourself, loved ones and home from fire during power outages
Careless handling of fire can cause a lot of trouble. Strictly follow the safety rules and teach these rules to children. The SNS has developed advice for the public on how to avoid emergencies when using alternative sources of light and heat.
Candles
Use low, stable, metal candlesticks.
Keep lit candles at a safe distance from combustible materials. Do not burn candles to the end — leave a 2-3 cm long gap.
Do not leave lit candles unattended.

Always check the integrity of the can. The absence of traces of gas leakage can be checked with a soap solution. Designed for outdoor use.
If the burner is used in a room where people live, there must be ventilation.
Do not allow sunlight to reach the cylinders and keep them away from the effects of high temperatures.
Furnace heating
Do not allow the ovens to overheat. Make sure that there are no cracks in the walls of furnaces and chimneys.
During the heating period, you should clean the chimneys.
On the floor of combustible materials in front of the furnace door, nail a metal sheet measuring 50x70 cm. Do not use flammable liquids for ignition of furnaces. Do not leave appliances that are drowned, unattended.
Generators
Buy only certified products only at licensed points of sale. Follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully.
Generators and fuel should only be used outdoors at a distance of at least 6 meters from windows, doors and garages. Keep the generator dry and protected from rain or flooding.
Touching a wet generator or devices connected to it may result in electric shock. Allow generator to cool before refueling.
