Dealers who helped evaders to flee to Romania and Hungary were detained in the Transcarpathian region
In Berehovsky district, in Transcarpathia, a man for a “reward” transported military servicemen across the border, bypassing border posts. The same “scheme” of illegal earnings was organized by two of his compatriots from the Tyachiv district.
Operatives of the Transcarpathian Department of the Department of Internal Security of the National Police exposed three residents of Transcarpathia, who, wanting to earn money, set up a scheme for illegal transportation of “evaders” from military service abroad.
A 50-year-old resident of the Beregovsky district was looking for “customers” and offered to take them to Hungary on his own car, bypassing the border check. The cost of “travel” for one person was $5,500, and the attacker booked a place in the car only on condition of partial or full overpayment. According to the exposed fact, the investigators of TU SBI, located in the city of Lviv, opened criminal proceedings.
Internal security officers of the police, the SBI and the border service detained the man during another attempt to transport the fugitives to a neighboring state. Money, mobile phone and car were seized.
Two “businessmen” from the Tiachiv district, who came within sight of law enforcement, promised to help evaders leave for Romania for less than $1,300. The organizer of the criminal “scheme” - a 24-year-old man - searched for “passengers” on the Internet, and his 19-year-old accomplice was responsible for the direct transfer of military servicemen to another country.
Near the state border, UDVB employees and investigators of the Transcarpathian police detained dealers while receiving money.
All three defendants were given suspicions under Part 2 of Art. 332 (Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a period of 5 to 7 years.
Procedural management is carried out by the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office.
